Speech Club Officers 2002-2003 President--Terry Gary Vice-President--Tzjidzani Maphosa Treasurer--Tony Miller Co-Treasurer--David Olmstead Historian--Teresa Box Secretary--Erin Gibbs Activies Director--Mayra Garcia The NLC Speech Club is open to all students interested in improving their
commmunication skills. The club is actively involved with a number of programs initiated and
sponsored through the SPAR office. In the summer of 2002, the speech club supported a student
initiated effort to bring Mr. David Stanley (youngest step-brother to Elvis Presley) to our campus
as a motivational speaker. The Speech Club also volunteered when guest speaker James Earl Jones was on campus for the grand opening
of the new NLC-Irving Community Library. The club also fundraises to support the NLC Forensics Team, and to contribute to the
Dr. Linda J. Long Endowment Scholarship Fund. Speech Club meetings are held the first Monday of every month in A347 at 12:20-1:30pm Join Us!
