Anti Periplanar
- Atoms leaving must be in the same plane anti to one another so “p” orbitals can be in position for maximum overlap to form the Pi bond
Exception is with unusually ridged molecules where Syn Periplanar occurs (very rare because of steric hindrance of the departing atoms to one another)
